Chrome Tremolite is the green, chromium (Cr) rich variety of
Tremolite. Like other chromium rich gems, the green color is due to the chromium content. The main source for Chrome Tremolite is the D-Block Mine in the Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mts, Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, Tanzania. This is the same mine famous for the finest Tanzanite gems. This mine occassionally produces bright, lime green Tremolite crystals with amazingly flat and glassy terminations. These beautiful crystals set the standard for Tremolite.
